prepare for some total baby cuteness

Oh Violet, you're 8 weeks old today. I'm sure I've said this before, but the time is going by way too fast for me. If I could, I would freeze you at this age because it's just so perfect. I was snuggling with Akemi today and remembering when she was just a few months old and spent all her time in my arms like you do, and then I realized that means someday you'll be a rambunctious little toddler just like her too... and not my baby anymore. I can't handle that! I want to keep you like this forever.

There is nothing quite like being 8 weeks of age... the hours you spend staring at my face in total amazement, where we just lay there and study each other...is there anything sweeter? How simple your life is right now. all you think about is drinking milk and sleeping and watching the world go by around you. I like it very much. 


Everyone says you look a lot like Henry as a baby. I've thought the same thing! Only you have dark blue eyes and not brown. 

Almost everyone who meets you says "wow I love her name!" we never got that with the other kids. maybe your name is extra special?

You really love the song itsy bitsy spider. I think it's because the kids sing it to you. so now when you're fussy, I sing it too, and you break out a big baby smile. 

You're a pretty good sleeper and a pretty mellow baby (which is good because the others keep me on my toes 24/7). The noise and commotion you sleep through sometimes, it's crazy! 


It was a tough nine months getting you here, but I guess what I'm trying to say is we can't imagine life without you!
