I can't believe summer is almost over. How do these months go by so fast?! I'm just not ready to say goodbye to the late sunsets and warm weather... and kids running around naked in the yard and the popcycles and outdoor baths. Let's hope it stays like this for at least another month! August has been good to us so far and even though we're buried in projects at the moment, it feels really nice to jump in and get things done (after not being able to for 9 months!.
A few of our recent highlights...
△ Naomi had her first hula performance this week and it was so great to see how much she's learned! We felt a little bad for her because the girls next her were not as good and bumped into her several times. oh well! As soon as the applause ended Akemi ran up yelling "nomi!" and gave her a big hug... she looks up to her so much.
△ the kids had a couple woodworking workshops and poor Henry finally tells us he doesn't like hammering or wood or building things. ha.
△ Violet is now rolling over both ways and even scooting off her little blanket she kicks so much!
△ Akemi is really loving painting with the big kids.
△ Naomi and I have enjoyed some girl time when papa works late and the little ones are tucked into bed. We watched the BBCs adaptation of Wuthering Heights and then this week the classic movie Jivaro. I enjoy my time with this girl so much. and I think it's so important to squeeze in alone time with each kid on a regular basis!
Life is good!
