henry's birthday

Henry said his birthday this year was the best day ever, so I think it was a success despite a little hiccup of me not feeling well. We cancelled his party the day of because I had a couple really rough nights with Akemi and Violet... and one can only take so many nights of being up 8+ times over a measly 7 hours of sleep before you get sick. I've been trying to rest and load up on vitamin c but I'm feeling pretty under the weather.

We still managed to enjoy the day with our brand new five year old, and let me just say, it's so weird that my boy is five already! They're all growing up too fast! We picked up his favorite lunch and he opened his presents, some schleich sharks to add to his collection, of which the whale shark was his absolute favorite. The girls helped decorate his cake with little dinosaurs because he is so into everything prehistoric at the moment. It was a wonderful time.

And I only noticed afterwards when looking at the pictures that Henry was holding Violet's little hand through the entire cake thing... he is such a sweetie! He adores his little sisters like nothing else and is obsessed with the idea that he will take them with him when he grows up and moves out. He's always saying "violet is my love!" (he used to say that about Akemi but she is so crabby since turning 2 and doesn't want him to cuddle with her anymore).

  1. this is so stinking adorable. I love the whole prehistoric theme!

  6. What a wonderful occasion! I loved sharing in these photos! Can't wait to see what you have to share this week! We are going with an "animal" theme this week--or if your kids are as wild as mine can be--animal-like! The link will be live later tonight. Thanks again,
