recipe: almond oat smoothie

we've been trying lots of new smoothie combinations this year and so far, this is one of our favorites. it's such a filling breakfast (but not in that way-too-full-can't-move kind of way) and is perfect when we don't have time for much in the morning. I like to make an extra so we have something easy to grab out of the fridge for later too (though those often go to work with kenji!).
almond oat smoothie with dark cocoa

serves 2

1 frozen banana
2 ice cubes
1/4 cup almond butter
1/3 cup raw oats
1 scoop protein powder
1 to 2 tablespoons unsweetened dark cocoa powder
10oz almond milk

blend until smooth and enjoy!
